Community Guidelines
Welcome to Nketa Afrika! We’re excited to have you as part of our community. To ensure a positive and inclusive experience for all users, we have established the following community guidelines. Please read and abide by these guidelines while using our web app:
Respect and Inclusivity:
Treat all members of the community with respect and courtesy. Be mindful of cultural differences and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
Avoid offensive, discriminatory, or harmful language or behavior. Do not engage in personal attacks, harassment, or bullying of any kind.
Authenticity and Accuracy:
Share accurate and reliable information. Avoid spreading misinformation or making false claims. A language can have many words, accents and ways to say the same thing. We think that’s one of the wonders of languages. Approach these conversations with an open mind and attitude.
Cite your sources whenever possible and acknowledge the contributions of others. Plagiarism is not tolerated.
Constructive and Relevant Contributions:
Contribute in a constructive manner. Share insights, ask questions, and provide helpful feedback to others.
Keep discussions focused on African language learning, related resources, or cultural topics. Avoid unrelated or off-topic discussions.
Language Usage:
Use the appropriate language(s) for communication within the community. Respect the preferences and guidelines for specific languages or language groups.
Encourage language learning by providing guidance, corrections, and explanations when appropriate, while maintaining a supportive environment.
Intellectual Property:
Respect the intellectual property rights of others. Do not share copyrighted materials without proper authorization.
If you share content created by others, provide proper attribution and seek permission if required. It’s okay to share external resources and links. But just like with copyrighted and pirated materials, you should know that spamming, referral code hocking, advertising, and excessively promoting products/services is not acceptable and such posts and references can be removed without warning.
Privacy and Security:
Protect your own and others’ privacy. Do not share personal or sensitive information that could compromise your safety or the safety of others.
Report any suspected security vulnerabilities or privacy concerns to the appropriate channels within the web app.
Compliance with Laws and Policies:
Abide by all applicable laws and regulations, as well as the terms and conditions, and policies of Nketa Afrika.
Do not engage in illegal activities, promote harmful content, or violate any intellectual property rights.
Moderation and Reporting:
Follow the instructions of moderators and administrators. They are responsible for enforcing the community guidelines.
Report any violations of the guidelines or any other concerns to the designated reporting channels within the web app.
Failure to comply with these community guidelines will result in warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans, depending on the severity of the violation and the discretion of the moderators and administrators.
Remember, Nketa Afrika aims to create an inclusive and supportive community where users can learn and share knowledge about African languages. We appreciate your cooperation in making this a positive and enriching experience for everyone.
Thank you for being a part of our community!
